Hide and seek
It’s not surprising the practices of Europe’s top 100 companies demonstrate this confusion. What is startling is just how little agreement or consensus exists about any aspect of risk reporting.
Given that there is no shortage of advice about risk reporting (just a lack of clarity about the form it should take), it’s somewhat unsettling to realise there are a number of companies who don’t have, or appear to have, any kind of risk section or chapter at all within their narrative. Six companies in the survey don’t provide any specified risk section, let alone comply with the specific EU requirement to identify principal risks.
